The Box
While to some, it may just be packaging, Fossil have gone an extra mile to create an engaging experience for buyers. The front of the box adorns a collage of authentic Batman illustrations from the original comics, including your favourite characters like the joker, robin and of course Batman himself. From the colours to the drawings and the fonts, the packaging will bring you a sense of excitement as you unbox the watch. Inside, the watch and straps are laid out clearly amongst a snippet of the comic that is printed into the box. For avid collectors, the box features the Limited Edition count and information booklet.
The Watch
There are two watches to choose from in the release but the black stainless steel model is the only one that is available at Shiels.
The Limited Edition Batman heritage LED black stainless steel watch has a simple case and design that highlights the dial, giving it a neon effect. The minute markers are finished in an electric blue hue that stands out against the black backdrop, while the hour markers consist of a clear font with blue lettering and yellow outlines. This motif follows through to the hands of the watch which consist of the same pattern, with a yellow second hand. In fact, the blue paint is in fact illuminating, which means that you can read this watch even in the dark! - perfect for taking on big adventures just like Batman himself, who sits in the centre of the dial.
The case is a reasonable 42mm wide, which means that it will sit comfortably on the wrist, without being overbearing. The watch is powered by LED movement and complete with 5ATM water resistance. On the back of the case, the Batman logo and the limited edition count are highlighted.
Interchangeable Straps
This watch comes with four interchangeable straps. The straps are 22mm and are interchangeable with the metal bands that the watch comes with. Each of the additional straps come in brightly coloured fabric, that is comfortable to wear and gives a more casual look.
The first strap is a simple yellow colour with the iconic Batman logo printed onto the end of the band. Bright and bold, this strap matches the yellow highlights in the dial and looks particularly amazing with the black model, however, the gold stainless steel does not work well with the bright yellow fabric.
The second band is bright blue, taking inspiration from the minute indices. A standout in this strap is the simple illustration of Batman’s face with white eyes that really shows Fossil’s attention to detail in this collection. Again, the blue band looks fantastic with the black case, however, pairing electric blue and gold is more of a distinct style that isn’t for everyone.
The last two straps are much more bold, perfect for those who want something more eye-catching. The monochromatic comic version looks great with the black case, and really stays true to the traditional comic style that we all love, while maintaining the subtle colour palette to improve versatility.
Finally, the most striking of the three bands is the full-colour comic design with saturated colours and striking pop art style that is especially popular with DC comics, making this piece a real stand out.
