This design is inspired by the poison dart frog with its unique colour combination.
Casio has strikingly captured the mysterious hues of the rare species with a coloured bezel that is especially eye-catching. The poison dart frog is the name of a group of frogs which are native to tropical Central and South America. These species have brightly coloured bodies which are correlated with the toxicity of the frog's skin.
A multicoloured bezel draws inspiration from the poisonous reptile with bright blue and red highlights in a striping pattern that stands out against a charcoal grey background. Cut from a base material of colourful carbon and glass fibres laminated in random patterns, each watch is different from the others. This reflects the rarity of the poisonous frog, and makes each watch that little bit more unique.
Complete with translucent urethane that highly contrasts the vivid colours of the bezel, this design element imitates the water loving nature of the frogs. It also tones down the striking colours to make the piece more wearable. The resin band is comfortable to wear and is finished with a speckled pattern, again drawing inspiration from the patterns of the frog.
