Feeling nostalgic? Timex and Stranger Things have brought back three cult-classic watches with some new eerie effects and sci-fi-inspired design. Anyone who loves the Netflix show will appreciate the obvious attention to detail in these brand-new Timex watches.
Stranger Things takes place in the 1980s, mimicking Stephen King's horror and delighting audiences with its retro-throwbacks and lovable characters. Let’s be honest, most of the fashion and clothing worn by the characters holds up well today — minus Will Byers’ newest bowl cut. Eagle-eyed viewers might have even noticed the rotation of genuine 80s watches worn by the characters on the show, including some Timex classics.
Three of those cult-classic watches make their return in this collection: the Timex Camper, Timex T80, and Timex Atlantis. These Stranger Things Timex Watches are packed with hidden details and Indiglo backlighting, while the digital models include the Stranger Things theme alarm to keep you out of the Upside Down.

Timex Stranger Things T80 Watch
First up is the Stranger Things Timex T80, sporting a digital screen and retro case. Digital watches were still relatively new in the 80s, so it’s no surprise the young gang from Stranger Things latched onto the exciting new technology. The look isn’t dissimilar to the casio watches Dustin (played by Gaten Matarazzo) is so often seen wearing, yet this remade Timex’s classic has some special new features that set it apart from its original 80s groove.
On the case is a vibrant red night, featuring a full moon and the group of young protagonists on their bikes. It seems as though they're in 'Mirkwood', the creepy forest in the town of Hawkins that the young characters so gleefully named after the woods in Tolkein's 'The Hobbit'. It's a nicely detailed scene, and against the thick vintage bracelet, the red colour really pops.
When the clock strikes 3pm, this watch does something truly unique. Its Indiglo back lights will flash for 10 seconds, while the 3:00 digital display will appear backwards. This is a nice call-back to the eerie flashing lights in the show, and gives us a fun hint that there’s something a little otherworldly about this watch.
You can also play the Stranger Things melody and activate the backlight at the press of a button, so you can enjoy the special features whenever you like. Like the original T80, this timepiece comes with a collection of great digital features that you can use everyday, including a stopwatch and alarm system.
Timex x Stranger Things Camper
This Stranger Things Timex watch is the only analogue model of the three, but it has some of the most interesting additions of the special edition collection. You will notice right away that the numbers are all upside-down on the dial of the black watch. This is a nice tie-in with the show, but things get a bit more intense when you turn on the Indiglo lights.
The backlights show a hidden image of the Demogorgon monster. This is very nice artwork, albeit pretty freaky, and you’ll see it best at night or in the dark. The dial lights up in the signature Stranger Things red, with the hands and number indices contrasting in black. As if these special-edition Timex watches weren’t nostalgic enough, this secret image brings back memories of the show’s iconic first season.
The dial also includes the Stranger Things logo at the bottom of its face that’s visible at all times. Conveniently, the comfortable fabric strap is easy to wear daily and has nice durability. Much like the original Timex Camper, this model has a 40mm case that’s a little larger and bolder than its competitors.
As part of their promotion, Stranger Things and Timex wardrobed Lucas Sinclair (played by Caleb McLaughlin) with an original Timex Camper in season four. Keep an eye out for it when you delve into the thrills of the new season.
Timex x Stranger Things Atlantis
The final Stranger Things Timex watch offers the best of both worlds, with a round case like the Camper, and a digital screen like the T80. The dial features some eerie artwork in red and black, based on a particularly intense scene from the show.
This digital watch has the great features of the classic 80s model plus more. Enjoy a stopwatch timer with lap setting, multiple time zone settings, and a calendar display. The alarm will play the Stranger Things theme, much like the special edition T80 does.
At 3pm this watch gives us a glimpse into the Upside Down, showing the shadow of the Mindflayer on the digital screen. The time display will reverse and the backlights will flash for 10 seconds, and then… back to normal. Hm, what was that?
Thoughts On The Stranger Things Timex Watches
This fine collection of unisex watches are some of the best special edition timepieces to be released in recent times. There’s plenty of extra details for fans of the sci-fi thriller to enjoy, especially in the retro aesthetic that fits so well with the show.
If there’s anything that Stranger Things has taught us, it’s that they can bring anything back and make it work. Look no further than art-pop sensation Kate Bush reaching No.1 on the UK charts with Running Up That Hill, 37 years after its initial release.
But even with all the hype, Timex and Stranger Things didn’t mail it in with their collaboration. These reimagined classic watches are packed with unique features and excellent references to the beloved show. The hidden images and 3pm light show are something completely different, and really makes it seem like these watches have been into the world of Stranger Things and back.
