What is a tennis bracelet?

A tennis bracelet is a bracelet that features small, tightly packed precious gemstones held together by a thin precious metal chain. To learn more, check out our 'what is a tennis bracelet' blog post.

Why do they call them tennis bracelets?

The term tennis bracelet is said to be coined after American tennis player and former world no.1, Chris Evert. Specifically, the term is speculated to have come about during her US Championships encounter in 1987 where she was spotted wearing a diamond eternity bracelet.

Since then, other female tennis players including Maria Sharapova and Serena Williams have taken inspiration from Evert, adorning similar bracelets during matches.

What is so special about a tennis bracelet?

Unlike other bracelets which are traditionally quite bulky, difficult to wear and sometimes uncomfortable, tennis bracelets offer a reprieve for women especially those leading active and busy lifestyles who are after a comfortable, daily and stylish bracelet.

Since the initial days of Evert, tennis bracelets have evolved to provide consumers with more choice than ever, including implementing a range of precious stones and metals in different size and shapes.
